Re: i suck at uploading |
Hi,
Don't feel too bad about it, it's kind of a complicated process.
Are you using Internet Explorer on a PC? Because that's the only way that particular link will work.
If not, you'll need to use an FTP client like SmartFTP or Fetch. You'll connect to that same server with your archive email address/password and you should see a folder named with your item's identifier (the unique ID you put together in the first step).
Upload your files directly into the folder with your item's name. (If you upload them anywhere else, the system will automatically remove them.) When the upload is complete, return to the page that gave you the server address and use the link near the bottom of the page to check your item back in.
From there, it's fairly self explanatory - pick your band's collection from the etree dropdown, click Submit etree, and then enter the "metadata" for your item, like setlist, song titles, etc. Don't forget to hit submit at the bottom of that page.

Using your browser as an ftp client (especially for something like this) is a lot like trying to dig the Suez canal with a soup spoon. Sure, you'll get the job done eventually, but there's a lot better and less painful ways to do it. Get yourself one of the many excellent and free ftp clients, such as SmartFTP, or WSFTPPro and use that instead.
